Apple has just announced its fifth iteration with the new 200 features in iOS 5, which is supposed to grace the Apple's devices this fall include iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2, and 3rd and 4th generations of iPod Touch. Some of them are long overdue like the notification Center that has taken Android approach but many more bring a big surprise to the users. One of the biggest surprise might be the omission of Facebook in order to provide more space to Twitter as the dominant social media platform within in OS.
However, what are the updates of iOS 5 compared with iOS 4 that are considerably significant?

Anyone know if we can use this in place of messaging such as GroupMe? I see one sent to multiple recipients but dunno if you can recieve from multiple on the same message.. I think this is a great step, but I think AT&T and other carriers are gonna hate to see most people drop to a lower rate messaging plan.
As Airplay is available in any content, which uses the integrated media player, including embedded browser videos and stuff from the YouTube app. Does that mean we don't need a YouTube Video Converter anymore? But I have my second thoughts about the wireless streaming ... We have a external drive which can stream movies to our television as well. But in a 30 min span he takes a freeze for a couple seconds. I wonder if the streaming really stays that good. Thanks for sharing such informative post, it is very useful.

It looks like the only thing missing from 3GS is some of the photo editing features - crop, etc. Good to know that's all I'll be missing out on until iPhone 5 comes out!
Not only that, but you will be able to edit your pics right in the Photos app (including crop, rotate, enhance, and red-eye reduction). And when activated, iOS 5 will send your images directly to iCloud for safe keeping.
