It is candy bar smarthphone that combines the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Navigation Edition models. It measures 4.37 inches tall by 2.03 inches wide by 0.61 inch thick and weighs 3.98 ounces. As a touchscreen smartphone, the Nokia 5230 Nuron has wide display with 640x360pixel resolution and support for 16 million colors. It makes the display clear, bright and satisfying. The Nuron’s touch-screen is very responsive that allows you to easily navigate using your finger. It will give you a smooth scrolling experience.

The Nuron eliminates some features to make the price lower than other Nokia music phones (5800 series) but it has some enhancements like Ovi Maps application that provides free turn by turn and voice guided navigation. Ovi Maps is a much more useful tool and even provides several advantages over its competitors--namely Google maps. You can view maps even if you don't have a data connection. The maps are downloaded to device, so you can continue to use them even if you're offline. In addition, Nokia uses a hybrid vector mapping technology that helps maps redraw quickly and gives you the ability to zoom in and out of maps with little delay. Google Maps, on the other hand, requires that a new map be downloaded every time you want to zoom, thus taking up more bandwidth and time. Another plus: you can use Ovi Maps in 74 different countries and in 46 languages.


When you launch Ovi Maps, you'll find nine options: My Position, Find Places, Share Location, Favorites, Drive, Walk, Weather, Events, and Lonely Planet. All are pretty self-explanatory, and there are several shared features among the various apps, though it's not immediately clear. For example, My Position shows your location on a map, but you can also search for businesses (by name or category) and route to the location from there by tapping at the address at the top of your screen. You don't have to exit out of My Position and launch Find places or Drive to perform the same tasks.

Nokia X6 :: The Next Iphone Killer

The next iPhone killer. It seemed quite fitting epithet for Nokia X6. Indeed, with the product range, Nokia will be the true competitor for the iPhone. And this X6 will assume duties at the time of the launch later.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S At Glance

Samsung hit the market with the release of its latest smart phone: Samsung I9000 Galaxy S with a great and astonishing design and technology. It is an Android 2.1 smartphone with a very large 4" 800 x 480 pixel AMOLED display and a 1GHz processor.

The Android 2.1 interface has been reworked to give it a consistent look-and-feel to other Samsung handsets. We find that this reskinning business is getting a bit annoying.. after all, if it's an Android phone then shouldn't it look like an Android phone? Samsung have included some social networking applications and personal information management tools in addition to the base Android offering, and the Galaxy S should be able to download new apps from the Android market.
It's a big device, the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S measures 122 x 54 x 10mm but despite that it only weighs a moderate 118 grams. The I9000 also has a large 1500 mAh battery, a useful feature because Android can eat into battery life. The Galaxy S isn't particularly attractive though, it's a standard black slabby design that looks like many other smartphones.
Samsung will release this latest variant in the second quarter. For prices, there has been no official information up to date.
